Built by Matthew Diakonov
Serial founder (1 exit), full-stack developer, 20+ products shipped, 3 hackathons won in the Bay Area. Currently building Fazm from San Francisco.
At the intersection of engineering, startups, and a belief that AI should do the boring stuff so you don't have to.
Why I built Fazm
After building Screenpipe (local screen recording with AI) and Terminator (desktop automation for Windows), I realized the missing piece: an agent that doesn't just observe your screen - it takes action on it.
Most "AI assistants" give you answers. I wanted one that actually moves the mouse, types on the keyboard, fills out forms, sends emails, and books flights. All from your voice.
Fazm is the tool I wished existed when I was running 12 Claude Code agents in parallel, managing a remote team across India and Vietnam, and trying to ship 20 products at the same time. It remembers your contacts, your accounts, your habits - so every task requires less explanation over time.
Open source work
Beyond code
I practice Vipassana meditation daily - 6 silent retreats (60 days total) and 900+ consecutive days of practice. I built vipassana.cool as a free resource for people considering meditation, with research data and practical guides.
I also run "2nd Chance," a grant program for Vipassana meditation students. Outside of that - road cycling (Cervelo RS), swimming, pickleball (4.0 rating), and running (7:24/mi pace for 5 miles).
I produce electronic music under the name Housegemacht.
The journey
First entrepreneurship
Started selling burned CDs at age 12 after his older brother bought a CD burner. First taste of building something people wanted.
First software
Learned programming in school when it was still something only big companies did. Got hooked immediately.
First software company
Co-founded a software company from a random project opportunity. Built and shipped the first real product.
Consulting at Accenture
Worked in enterprise consulting, learning how large organizations operate and where automation breaks down.
First exit
Saved $150K, left Accenture, built a product, and achieved a successful exit. Proved the founder instinct was real.
Keyrent - Rent automation
Built a rental automation platform. 300 paying customers, $1.3M GMV, $300K ARR at peak. Learned that people-centered businesses need trust, not just tech.
ARINA - First AI/ML venture
Entered the AI/ML space, inspired by breakthroughs like DeepMind's AlphaGo. Built neural network products at the intersection of research and application.
Moved to the US
Relocated to San Francisco to be closer to the AI ecosystem. Started building in ML, developer tools, and LLM applications.
Screenpipe & Omi
Co-founded Omi (merged with Redsat) and created Screenpipe - an open-source library for local screen and audio recording with AI. 800+ GitHub stars.
Fazm
Built Fazm - an AI computer agent for macOS that controls your desktop via voice. The culmination of years building AI tools, automation platforms, and developer experiences.
